Name Change
it wasn’t until
a few days ago that
i heard the last name ‘bland’
uttered and thought,
why wouldn’t you change
your name?
sure,
i’m sure there’s pride
in being a
bland,
but i’m not sure it
outweighs the whole
bland
thing.
but i guess
it’s not about the
name, or
about the branding,
is it.
toni morrison matters
because of her life,
her work, her
excellence.
a name is just
a name,
your life’s
bland
and that’s
what needs
changing.
