Needle’s Journey
the sewing needle
goes back and forth,
over and over
through the same
goddamn shirt and
the sewing needle
says,
“it’s just another day
at the sewing table,
back and forth,
just like yesterday,”
and the sewing needle
goes back and forth
as the shirt twists
and turns underneath it,
eventually creating the
letter “J” which stands for
Journey, and the sewing needle
says,
“i understand now,
it is not about the monotony
or the back and forth,
it’s about the journey,
that one day all of my toils
will form what i will call
a life lived,”
and i replied to the sewing needle,
“no,
the J stands for Journey,
a relatively shitty band
in my opinion.”
