Pepsi

we’re them ridges
at the bottom of a glass
bottle of coca-cola,
graduated from being
the sharp edges of an
aluminum can of coke,
that ridge over there was even
a plastic bottle cap on a
diet coke, we did hate
being the drink of the poor
and the rich and poorly
mannered, we’re them ridges
at the bottom of a glass bottle of
coca-cola being poured into
a glass of rum and we’re proud,
where some cans get their labels
ripped off, we ridges’ll be together
’til we shatter, wall to wall,
at the anger of our drunk
drinkers; pepsi never had this
much to lose.”
