On flexibility

I warn you not to become so engrossed in structure that you become inflexible. For new experiences, you’ll have to break with routine. Don’t view this as a discomfort or even a necessary evil. In fact, your habits are more of a problem than the unexpected events that are bound to happen in life. That’s not to say you shouldn’t have some sort of expectation every day—that keeps you productive and helps you progress. So long as your habits, schedules, and routines don’t hinder your ability to break your own laws, you should be fine. Consider this a call to break form and rebel against your own expectations every once in a while.
