You’ve done particularly well when you have a focus sheet in front of you to reference throughout the day. The sheet shows you exactly what needs to be done and illustrates the individual tasks you need to complete for the day. It’s a system to help you do your job. When you don’t have a system—a way to organize the day—you don’t perform nearly as well. You’re distracted, you lack direction, and your attention is too easily split.
Take time to sharpen the ax daily by focusing on a core set of tasks that need to be completed. This is integral in making sure anything gets done. Be able to check things off a visual list, and make sure you stick to your commitments.
