Ask yourself, “What’s your remedy?” in regard to emotional responses to a situation. What do you think will improve by taking this or that action? Does going on tilt help you win hands?* Will anger make you a more effective person? Will sadness help you get focused? Mitigate your emotional responses and remain in constant control of them.
*Tilt is a term, commonly heard in regards to poker, that refers to becoming angry, or frustrated after you lose a hand. Playing while “tilted” means you’re playing while you’re pissed off, usually resulting in worse play as time goes on.
