Create distinct spaces, or settings, in your own home. For example, making your bed is a way to create an environment that inspires more than just sleep. When you’re asleep, the lights are turned off, your bed is not tidy, and there are probably plenty of things left sitting on a chair or at your desk. That’s not ideal. The first thing you should do in the morning is change the physical state of your room—turn the page. Close the book on the past and make an active decision not to be sleepy until you come back to bed that night. That way, you’re intentional in starting your day, rather than mindlessly rolling out of bed to accomplish nothing for the first three hours that you’re awake. Start well, end well.
