On single-mindedness

Too many of your responsibilities become fragmented and slow because you don’t focus on one assignment at a time. Look at only the job in front of you. Close everything else out. Remove all distractions and finish the one thing that needs to be completed. You have no permission to get up and let your mind wander on its aimless trails of thought until the task is done. Do you genuinely understand the focus required to do great work? If you cannot focus on the small things, how are you supposed to focus on the grand vision? Practice focus. Practice single-mindedness. It’s as if nothing else exists until the next minute is won.
