On the pressure of creativity

Not everybody is going to love what you create—nor is that your goal as a creator.

Your goal is for your intended audience to love what you create.

The real pressure of publishing is that people you would’ve never expected to read your book are telling you that it’s good. It’s an odd feeling, shipping a project as massive as a book and releasing it into the world for judgment, then getting an unexpected outcome. I can see how that feels like a lot of pressure, but that’s part of the job; embrace it.
